Hey everybody! Just got back from the NAMM show in Anaheim, Ca. Had lots of fun hanging at the James Trussart Guitar booth jamming with the cool and great Earl Slick as well as Rockabilly legend Danny B. Harvey and also Bobby Cochran (Eddie Cochran's nephew). Also enjoyed my time hanging at Gretsch Guitars and Taylor Guitars where all the energy of the day kept buzzing with music and friendly musician types. With all the guitar press and appreciation surrounding me, (Guitar Player Mag. Jan issue and Premier Guitar latest issue) it's great to finally be considered a guitar player after all these years by the industry, and it's about time cause I've been playing lead guitar since my first all girl band that I started in 1966 "Penelope's children" and later on in the 80's, the Screamin' Sirens out of Hollywood. Anyway, I'm having a blast now. The year started off with a fun show at the Moody Theater in Austin celebrating 35 years of the music of Alejandro Escovedo Who invited me to do a couple of his songs. I love the "Velvet Guitar" song that i performed and you can find our performance on Youtube and share in the excitement if you put in: rosie flores velvet guitar. If this first month of the year is any indication of what's yet to come, then I'm gonna love sharing some great stories with you all as the months flow by. Do check in every month for my updates! Happy New Year to you all and thanks for stopping by to see and hear what's new in "rosie world". Cheers, rf

This Fall is so exciting for me, I am so pleased that the Janis Martin Cd and her Pink Vinyl of “The Blanco Sessions” is out and doing really well!! Go to: Cowislandmusic.com I had the pleasure of speaking on NPR ‘s Weekend Edition with Rachel all about my experience with meeting and getting to know Janis and finally taking her in the studio. This is an exciting summer because I'm getting close to releasing 2 new cd's! For starters; FINALLY- Janis Martin's "The Blanco Sessions" will be hitting the streets with a release date on Sept. 18th on Cow Island Music! However, the kickstarter.com supporters will be getting their cd's and rewards 2 weeks before that and we so appreciate their patience, it's been an unbelievable ride. There was so much ground to cover and my team and I have worked very hard to complete this project. I'm really proud of the hard work that this team has put down and it is looking and sounding awesome. At the same time, I have been working towards finishing my newest Cd due out this Fall in October, self produced "Working Girls Guitar". This will be the first studio recording's where I have undertaken playing every single guitar part all by myself, it's a whole lotta rosie! There will be some exciting shows to come and see in your towns and looking forward to all the Janis CD release shows that we hope to make in your cities. When we show up to play I hope you will please come and pick up Janis's The Blanco Sessions, a poster or a t-shirt and some Rosie stuff too. You'll be glad you did, this new stuff rocks! Thanks for stopping by my new updated website and keep coming back for more news on what I'll be stirring up this summer and onward around these 2 fantastic releases! xo rosie

Hello! Thanks for stoping by~
I've been hard at work this year finishing the final touches on the Janis Martin recording's which would not be possible without the kickstarter.com funding and a certain record label's involvement of which I will hopefully announce by name soon. The Cd's and Vinyl will be manufactured this Spring and are being mastered this month by Joe Gastwick in LA under the title "The Blanco Sessions". Producing this record in 2007 was a dream come true for me and drummer Bobby Trimble (Modern Don Juans, Big Sandy,The Ugly Beats). As many rockabilly fans know, Janis passed away shortly after she recorded the sessions in Blanco Texas, this was supposed to be her comeback CD. I had been coaxing her to record with me for 10 years! We are now getting close to releasing an amazing 11 song masterpiece of some of her favorite rock n roll songs that she hand picked. Together with Trimble we found some cool rock songs that she loved performing live. Some were originally recorded by the likes of Ruth Brown, Ronnie Dawson and Dave Alvin to name a few. The CD will be released to the public this spring after the kickstarter donaters are taken care of first. Finally her fans around the world will be able to hear her incredible vocals which are so chilling that it will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. I want other rock n roll female musicians to discover her vocals and songwriting so that they can be inspired as much as I was through the years.

The Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland was completely awesome to me this year when they invited me to bring in my multi media performance on January 25th with a 64 picture slide show of Janis' life. With a live band of stellar musicians featuring Marti Brom and myself on vocals, we had a blast telling stories about Janis and her life. In an era where Wanda Jackson, Jerry Lee, and Elvis were the kings and queens of early rock n roll, Janis (who was called The Female Elvis) was also a very integral part of the group of young artists who helped give birth to rock n roll back in the mid to late 1950's. I feel that it's so very important to help preserve her name as one of those early pioneers of female rockabilly and rock n roll by bringing this awesome recording out to her old fans as well as the new ones discovering her each and everyday. If you do not know about Janis Martin, I suggest that you take some time to google her and check her out on youtube and the internet to discover for yourself what made her a rare and special artist to the end.
Other news:I am in the middle of recording a brand new Rosie CD, i's a rocker and I hope to have it out this year, so keep checking back here to see when that will be released on Bloodshot Records. I'll be hitting the road to bring the Janis Tribute to a theater hopefully near you and will be performing with my band too. So please ck the tour dates here for more information. I will try to be better at keeping up here so thanks for stopping by my website as well as, FB, Twitter etc. to find out what's new and exciting this year. Keep the faith and stay true to yourself.
